On this 17 day trip, converge on India’s cultural capital Kolkata; weave through bustling markets and join an NGO handcraft souvenirs. Explore the seaside temple town of Puri, meet traditional artisans and cruise Asia’s largest saltwater lagoon, Chilka Lake. Participate in local agricultural projects and learn from local farmers about indigenous sustainability solutions. Trek to a remote village nestled in the rolling hills of the Eastern Ghats. Teach ethnic kids the a-b-c and learn the secret behind their dazzling smiles. Drop into an indigenous weekly market. Camp among ethnic villages and learn their ancient wisdom. Travel has never been so much fun and so immensely rewarding. Encourage indigenous sustainable development projects and have the time of your life doing so!

PRICE INCLUDES: Accommodation for 6-nights in hotel/guesthouse, 6-nights in NGO Guest Quarters, and 2-nights camping; private transport through-out (except transfers); all meals are inclusive except for Kolkata, Puri and Visakhapatnam where independent options are available; sightseeing in Kolkata & Visakhapatnam, old city tour of Puri by cycle rickshaw, visit to Raghurajpur & Konark including entry fees, visit to NGO handicraft centre in Kolkata, NGO agricultural and organic farming centre & training activities, teaching English, visit to weekly ethnic market, NGO teaching activity, camping and trekking; cruise on Chilka Lake; local ferry, private train travel, cycle rickshaws, bullock cart, and pole boat; services of a dedicated local leader throughout trip.

PRICE EXCLUDES: Arrival and departure transfers, extra nights accommodation in Kolkata and Visakhapatnam, meals not included (provide Euro 10 per day for additional meals)

EXTRA BED (ADULT) POLICY: Maximum 2 adults per room. Extra adults not permitted in the room.

CHILD & INFANT POLICY: Children are welcome on all tours. Children below 18 years must be accompanied and cared for at all times by an adult. Children below 18 years are eligible for 50% of the full fare on the understanding that they are lodged in the same room (separate beds are provided) as their parents. This applies for a maximum of 2 children per family. Additional children will be charged full fare.

If you plan on bringing children on this trip, please do advise the tour operator at the time of booking. Orissa is pretty adventurous and the tour operator needs to be sure the kids (and the parents) are up for it.

TRANSFER PRICES (AIRPORT/STATION/CITY – TOUR START POINT OR VICE-VERSA): Airport transfers by private air-conditioned vehicles are available on request. Please provide flight arrival details at the time of booking or at least 2 weeks prior to departure.
